Avram Allen

Avram Allen begins his second season at the head coach of the Young Harris College women's soccer program.


Allen led the Mountain Lions to the Peach Belt Conference Tourment in his first season and coached two first-team All-PBC selections - Alexis Scarpinato and Jhena Ellerbe. It was the first time in program history the Mountain Lions had two players named to the All-Peach Belt team.


Allen is no stranger to Young Harris as he played and coached for the Mountain Lions. He comes to the Enchanted Valley after serving as the head coach for Athletico Lanier of the National Premier Soccer League this season. His team advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament in 2021.He was also involved with the development of youth players and coaches, as he served as the Girls' Director of Coaching at Lanier Soccer Association.


Prior to Athletico Lanier, Allen served as an assistant coach for seven years for of the University of North Georgia's men's soccer program. Allen returned to his alma mater as the full-time assistant men's soccer coach in 2014. While in Dahlonega, the Nighthawks finished as runner-up in the Peach Belt Conference regular season in 2016 and runner up at the 2017 PBC Tournament.


Prior to UNG, he served as assistant coach for the Young Harris women's soccer program in 2013 under the direction of YHC Athletics Hall of Fame coach Kathy Brown.


As a player Allen competed at YHC for two years (2006-07) before transferring to North Georgia. At YHC, he was captain of the 2006 Mountain Lion team that went to the GJCAA Region 17 finals earning two all-tournament team selections and all-region honors along the way. He was a two-year letter-winner at North Georgia as a midfielder garnering All-Peach Belt Tournament honors.


He received his bachelor's degree in physical education/health with a minor in leadership from North Georgia in 2010 and his master's degree in arts & teaching from UNG in 2015. He holds a USSF "B" license as well as a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma.


Avram is married to Hannah Allen. They have two beautiful kids Londyn and Liam.

Dean Grey

Dean Grey begins his second season as head coach of the Young Harris College men's soccer program.


Grey is in his 12th season as a coach for the Mountain Lions. Grey served as an assistant coach for the first eight years before being elevated to the associate head coach position for three years.


During his time in the Enchanted Valley, Grey has helped the Mountain Lions capture six Peach Belt Conference regular-season titles, five PBC Tournament championships and six appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Grey has helped YHC, which has been ranked as No. 1 in the country during the 2014, 2018 and 2021 seasons, to a 150-35-14 record (.789 winning percentage). The Mountain Lions reached the national quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament in both 2014 and 2018, capturing the Southeast Region title in 2018.


He also served seven years as the head coach of the JV men's soccer program.


Grey spent three seasons as an assistant for the Southwest Baptist University women's soccer program. He was responsible for assisting in all aspects of managing and developing the Bearcats to compete in Mid-America Intercollegiate Conference, which was rated the the toughest NCAA Division II conference for women's soccer in the country.


Grey, who holds a National "B" License, was also the co-head coach of the Springfield Demize in the Premier Development League during 2012. He also played two seasons in 2010 and 2011 for the Demize.


Before going to SBU, Grey spent 2008 with the New Orleans Shockers of the PDL. From 2003-07, Grey played for four years at William Woods University as a left midfielder.


A native of London, England, Grey played two years in England under the PASE Scheme, an English college soccer program.


Grey earned his bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in business communications from William Woods and his master's degree in business administration from Southwest Baptist.


Grey is the father of twins Jackson and Ava.

Francisco Costa

Francisco Costa begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Young Harris College men's soccer program after serving one year as a volunteer coach.


Costa, who grew up in Portugal, played soccer for the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida, He graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, where he earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and minored in psychology and physical education with an emphasis in coaching.


Costa holds a United States Soccer Federation "D" License.
