If USSF Development Academy divisions are played, group games will be played on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday.  Wednesday will be an off day.  Finals and consolidation games will be played on Friday morning Dec. 31st.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 27, Tournament Headquarters will be open.

Who
  • Teams must conform to USYS age divisions based on date of birth.
  • Players must be registered to the team making application with the following exception:
    • Realizing that this tournament takes place over the Christmas holidays and not all members of a team may be able to participate, the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl committee has authorized a maximum of five (5) guest players per team.
    • These guest players need not be registered to the same club but must be registered with the same USSF affiliate organization (USYS, SYL, USCS) as the team and meet the age requirement.
    • A guest player from outside the team’s home state must have written permission to play from his/her home association.
    • Florida registered players, wishing to play as guests on Florida teams, must follow the "Guest Player Procedure" in the FYSA "Poaching" Rules (Rule 401.6.F).
  • The maximum number of players on U15 and younger teams is 18.  U16s and above teams may roster up to 22 players, but must declare 18 prior to each game. 
  • Players may play on one team only during the tournament.
  • There will be no exceptions to the above team and player requirements.

  • The primary means of accomplishing administrative functions and communications will be on-line via this web site. These functions include:

    • Team Roster submission

    • Game scores 
  • Player Profiles will be entered thru the Soccer In College website.
Fees
  • Entry Fees:
    • $600- Under 13 and Under 14  
    • $800 - Under 15
    • $950 - Under 16 thru Under 19
  • Entry Fees may be paid by check or credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only).
  • Entry Fees mailed after October 20th MUST be via certified check or money order.
Travel
  • Creative Travel is available, through our Travel Information page, to make your teams and individual hotel reservations. Out-of-area teams are REQUIRED to use Creative Travel for room reservations. Teams may stay at any of the “tournament approved” hotels listed by Creative Travel.
  • Creative Travel is the OFFICIAL travel agency for the tournament and has contracted for rooms throughout the Tampa Bay Area convenient to the playing sites.
  • Creative has also contracted for special Sun Bowl rates at BEACH FRONT and RESORT locations.

What are the objectives of the tournament?

    The main objectives of the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl are:

  • With the best officiating possible.
    In addition, we encourage as many college coaches as possible to scout participating teams for recruits.

What colleges and universities are represented at the tournament?

    The Tampa Bay Sun Bowl invites many college coaches to the tournament each year.  A list for the recent tournaments is available on the College Coaches page.

Who runs the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl?

    Tampa Bay Sun Bowl, Inc. is a Florida not for profit corporation which has a 501(c)(3) tax exemption granted by the Internal Revenue Service.
    The tournament is run by a core group of about 15 volunteers from the Tampa Bay area. In addition, during the tournament, each site is hosted by a local soccer club or other organization which provides additional volunteers at their site.
The Tampa Bay Sun Bowl and Kelme Join Forces

Kelme USA and the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl have entered into an agreement for Kelme USA to be the official apparel, footwear, and game ball supplier starting with the 2006 tournament.
