JEWEL OF THE HIGH COUNTRY
We believe the most important resource for a successful soccer tournament is the venue and we feel the Triple Crown Series boasts one of the premier small tournament venues in the southeast. The Triple Crown Series is held at the magnificent Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex, a crown jewel of the High Country! The facility was constructed in 2008 and is home to High Country Soccer Association and Appalachian State University's men's and women's soccer teams. As a testament to the complexes quality, the Southern Conference elected the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex to host the 2011 Men's Soccer Championships.
Featuring two fully lighted 120 x 90 yard turf fields the state-of-the-art complex is nestled in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains making it one of the most scenic soccer venues in the country! At the Triple Crown Series, players will compete on the highest quality field-turf fields. The field-turf surface diminishes the effects of even the heaviest of rains on our tournaments. Games are guaranteed not to be shortened or canceled due to rain! Lighted fields enable games to be played into the evening if necessary. The complex also includes two locker rooms, above average restroom facilities, a concession stand, a grass 70 x 60 yard practice field, and a newly constructed paved walkway which meanders alongside the New River and our fields.
All "King of the Hill", and "Queen of the Hill" games will take place on turf fields at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. For the "Majesty of the Mountain", two additional turf fields will be utilized at the newly constructed Watauga High School, located just across the street from TMSC approximately a two minute drive. The Watauga High School fields are of the same high playing quality and equivalent picturesque scenery as TMSC.
We hope you'll consider the Triple Crown Series for your team where we guarantee the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex (and Watauga High School) will provide you with a first class tournament experience!
