2007 Rules of Competition

LAWS OF THE GAME:

All club games and college vs. club games will be played in accordance with the FIFA Laws of theGame observed by USSF with the adjustments outlined below. 

DURATION OF PLAY:

Under 14 through Under 19 35 minute halves

All halftimes will be no longer than 10 minutes.

GUEST PLAYERS:

U14 and U15 rosters shall be limited to 18 players including up to 5 guest players.

The U16, 17 and 19 showcase does not have a limit on guest players, but asks each team to be reasonable with the total number of players on each team to assure adequate playing time for each participant.  The maximum roster size shall be 22 players.

Guest players must have a USYSA or US Club Soccer player pass.

Home team is listed first and should wear light colors, home team will change if there is a conflict.

REFUND/INCLEMENT WEATHER:

No team will be refunded their entry fee if the ywithdraw once the acceptance list has been posted.

In the event of inclement weather, the showcase committee has the authority to make any necessary changes to allow the continuation of the showcase. In the event of a complete cancellation, a partial refund will be refunded minus the actual cost of the showcase.

Check-in Information

Congratulations on your acceptance to the 7th Annual GSC FURY College Challenge.  Included below is key information you will need leading up to your tournament weekend.  We are working on bracketing and schedules and hope to have it in a few weeks.  Please feel free email if you have any questions about the information below.  

 

Registration Information all weekends:   Registration of teams will take place the Friday night before the tournament at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in the stadium hospitality room from 6pm - 9:00 pm.  You must have the following items with you at registration: 

Ø       Four copies of your current 2006-2007 approved roster with players’ jersey numbers  (You may write the jersey numbers on the roster)  

Ø       USYSA or US Club Soccer player passes are required at registration. 

Ø       "Permission to travel" forms are required for all USYSA registered out-of-state teams (US Club Soccer teams do not require a travel permit).

Ø       Medical release forms are not required. 

Ø       All guest players must have a current player pass from their team.

 

Schedules for all weekends:   All schedules will be posted on the website as soon as they are available.  Games begin on Saturday and Sunday at 8 am each weekend.  There is no game starting later than 3:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.

 

If you wish to update your teams resume for bracketing/match up purposes you can go to http://www.soccerincollege.com/ and click Log In.  After entering your log in and password click on Team/Coach manager and find your team.  If you do not remember your login and password you can notify them to send it to you.  You can then add games and results to your page.

Tournament Eligibility
The GSC FURY College Challenge is open to women's select and premier teams registered and in good standing with their USSF affiliated association.  Teams in the U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 ages will be accepted.

Divisions
Teams will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible. The GSC FURY College Challenge committee alone determines final placement. The committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league playing division and record, State Cup and tournament results, USA Rank ranking service, etc.

Teams
All teams and players must be USSF affiliated for the ‘06-‘07 seasonal year. USSF roster and ‘06-‘07 player cards are required to participate.  Each roster must include the numbers of the players' jeresey participating in the tournament.  Notification of travel is required for all teams from out-of-state unless you are a U.S. Club soccer member.

The computerized team application system will assign your age group based on the age of your oldest registered player.
 
Players and Guest Players
All players must by registered for fall ’06 -’07. A player may play for only one team during the tournament. 5 guest players is allowed for the U14 - U15 Age groups.  There is no guest player limit for U16 - U19.  Guest players must be registered and have a current ’06-’07 player pass.


Awards
Individual awards for 1st and 2nd place teams will be given in the U14 and U15 age groups.
 

FEES AND DEADLINES

On-line registration:
On-line registrations are quick and easy. On-line registrations must be paid by check.  Once your entry is received, the entry fee is non-refundable.  (If your team is not accepted, your entry fee will be returned in its entirety.) While we encourage you to enter early, early application does not guarantee acceptance.

Refunds:
Refunds will be made to all teams not accepted.

Once your team has been accepted your entry fee is non-refundable.

Schedules:
For travel preparations, a representative must check the team in on Friday evening of the tournament. Teams will play two games on Saturday. The earliest game Saturday begins at 8:00 am. The last final on Championship Sunday will begin no later than 3:30 pm. Game schedules will not be adjusted to accommodate individual teams scheduling.  We do our best to accomodate coaches with more than one team.

College Coaches:
The GSC FURY College Challenge will prepare a book of team information for u16, u17 and u19 age teams to assist the college coaches in their scouting efforts. Please complete the necessary information on the college section of the website.

REFEREES
We are always looking for qualified referees. If you have anyone available to referee who will be traveling with your team, please email or have them fill out the referee form under the referee tab on the website.

The GSC Fury College Challenge has been one of the largest women’s college/club events in the nation for the past six years.  Every year we host  NCAA Division 1, 2, 3 and NAIA college teams and club and ODP teams from across the nation and Canada in the U-14 through U-19 age groups.

The goal of this event is to provide college and club teams the opportunity to play competitive games and to give exposure for the up and coming women’s college soccer player. All teams play  games on collegiate level playing fields at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

We will play a tournament format for the U14 and U15 teams.  The U16, U17 and U19 teams will play three games in a showcase format.  Two games Saturday and one game Sunday.
