Erin Saleeby

Erin Saleeby was promoted to Head Women’s Soccer Coach in February 2019 after serving 5 years as assistant coach under James Lofton. She joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach in August 2014.


Saleeby previously served as junior varsity coach at Franklin County High School for nine seasons, as well as an assistant U18 girls coach for Franklin County Star, and director of the Academy for Franklin County Star. Before coming to Ferrum, she also worked as a Qualified Mental Health Clinician.


Saleeby played collegiately at NCAA Div. II Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was an All-Conference second team selection in the Carolinas Conference her senior year. Saleeby earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education from Queens in 2009. She later earned her master's degree from Walden University in 2011, majoring in Psychology of Culture.


A native of Rocky Mount, Saleeby is a 2005 graduate of Franklin County High School, where she was a four-year varsity player, as well as ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track.

Wes Lewis

Wes Lewis joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Volunteer Assistant Women's Soccer Coach in September of 2015, then moved into the full-time Assistant Coach position in Juky 2020. He has worked in soccer coaching, training and management in Washington D.C., Greensboro, N.C., and Martinsville, Va., since graduating from James Madison University in 2000 with a BS in Kinesiology.


Throughout his career, Lewis has coached young adult teams, working for multiple public school systems and clubs. Lewis now owns and directs Upper9t LLC in Martinsville, which offers individual, small-group and team training, plus camps and academies. It also sponsors showcase teams, taking them to summer tournaments for exposure. Upper9t teams, both girls and boys, have won regional and national tournaments. Lewis specializes in technical training and preparation for college; he uses soccer to teach life lessons and skills that will benefit young people in whatever path they pursue in college and beyond.


Lewis played for the JMU club team, where he was a four-year player, three-year starter and team captain. Prior to that, Lewis was a standout at Martinsville High School, earning Piedmont District Player of the Year honors as a senior and receiving All-District, All-Region and All-State. Lewis holds a USSF National "C" License and USSF National Youth License.

Matt Cureton

Cureton joins the Ferrum staff in the summer of 2021 from fellow Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) member Guilford College, where he served as assistant men's soccer coach for one season, a season that saw the Quakers reach the ODAC Tournament championship game.


Prior to Guilford, Cureton was on the staff at Presbyterian College, an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Big South Conference. In his two seasons there, the Blue Hose won their first ever Big South Tournament Championship in 2017 and made it back to the title game the following season. Also, Presbyterian's second-place finish in the regular season in the 2018 season stands as their best in program history.


Cureton received a Bachelor of Arts in sports administration from Lees-McRae College in December of 2015, following a solid four-year career for the Bobcats. He made 59 starts in 65 games over four years, recording four goals and 11 assists.


Cureton's efforts earned him a spot on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference third team in 2013. He also earned Conference Carolinas All-Tournament honors in 2014 and 2015, and added All-Academic honors and 2014 and 2015.

James Morgan

James Morgan joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach in March 2022, and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in October 2023.


Morgan came to Ferrum from Newcastle United Foundation, where he served as a community coach. Morgan was previously at Global Premier Soccer and served as Coach and Director of Youth Development in two locations: Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Morehead City, North Carolina.


He holds F and D License certifications with the U.S. Soccer Federation as well as Human Kinetics Coaching Principles Fourth Edition Certification and the FA level 2 qualification.


Morgan played at Newcastle United Football Club, competing in France, Northern Ireland, Singapore, Italy, and England during his time with the club. He played four years at Lees-McRae College, an NCAA Division II program in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Morgan earned All-Conference three times for the Bobcats, and Academic All-Conference twice from Conference Carolinas.


Morgan earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Administration with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Lees-McRae in 2018.
