Rebecca Volk

Rebecca Volk was named the head coach of the Harford women's soccer program on May 26, 2021.

Volk currently holds a 40-26-6 record through four seasons at the helm. Harford women's soccer won Maryland JUCO Conference championships in 2022 and 2023, and is currently the three-time reigning NJCAA Division I Region 20 champions. Volk is 20-5-3 against conference opponents. She has helped groom 20 student athletes into All-Maryland JUCO Conference honors and 14 have earned All-Region 20 accolades. The program also earned Sportsmanship Awards from United Soccer Coaches in 2023 and 2024 for fair play and minimal cards issued throughout the season.

Volk played soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Harford from 2008-2010. She was a captain of the 2009 women's soccer team that claimed a fifth place finish in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championships and won a program-record 19 games. She led her team in assists in both soccer (2008) and lacrosse (2010). Her cumulative soccer career saw her start 36 of the 37 games she played, tallying six goals, 13 assists, and 25 points as a defender. Volk was also a member of the SGA, Student Ambassadors, Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Harford Owl Newspaper during her time at HCC.

The three years prior to joining the staff at Harford, Volk served as the varsity head girl's soccer coach at C. Milton Wright High School. In 2018, she led the Mustangs to their first regional championship since 2011 and returned the following year to win regionals, advancing the Mustangs into the state quarterfinals. Her team was awarded the HARSOA Sportsmanship award in 2018 and six student athletes were voted to All-Harford County honors during her time. Prior to that, Volk spent the 2017 season with Bryn Mawr as the interim head coach for the girls soccer program. Volk coached in the Baltimore club circuit for over a decade with multiple programs in the local community. She has also been a member of the Maryland ODP 2008 Girls Coaching Staff since 2021 and is currently the Pool Coach for the 13U girls.

Volk is an alumna of C. Milton Wright High School, Harford Community College, Youngstown State University, and Towson University where she studied Sport Management. She currently holds her USSF C License and USC National Diploma, and plans to pursue her A license and Premier Diploma. She played in the WPSL with the Maryland Pride from 2008 - 2012. Her passion for coaching developed through overcoming four ligament tears over eight years of playing competitively after high school. Volk was also a board member with the Craig Willinger Fund for several years, a non-profit organization that gives once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to young soccer fans with terminal illness. She aims to always bring the same focus on philanthropy and community service to the program at Harford.

Volk currently resides in Churchville with her husband Jesse and their two children, Henry and Bella.
