Rebecca Volk

Rebecca Volk was named the head coach of the Harford women's soccer program on May 26, 2021.

Volk played soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Harford from 2008-2010. She was a captain of the 2009 women's soccer team that claimed a fifth place finish in the NJCAA DI National Tournament and won a program record 19 games. She led her team in assists in both soccer (2008) and lacrosse (2010). Her cumulative soccer career saw her start 36 of the 37 games she played, tallying 6 goals, 13 assists, and 25 points as a defender. Volk was also a member of the SGA, Student Ambassadors, Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Harford Owl Newspaper during her time at HCC.

Over the last three years, Volk served as the Varsity Head Women's Soccer Coach for C. Milton Wright High School. She led the Mustangs to their first Regional Championship since 2011 in 2018 and returned the following year to win Regionals advancing the Mustangs into the State Quarterfinals. Her team was awarded the HARSOA Sportsmanship award in 2018 and saw 6 players voted to All County honors during her time there.

Volk has been a head coach in the Baltimore club circuit for over a decade. In 2019, she became the Head Coach of the 2003 Select Girls at Baltimore Union Soccer Club. She served as the Recruitment Coordinator for Union and their affiliated Girls Academy program, ushering over 45 players into college programs in one season. Volk has also been a member of the Maryland ODP 2008 Girls Coaching Staff since 2021 and previously served as the Assistant Technical Director to the Washington Spirit Super Y Program.

Volk is an alumna of C. Milton Wright High School, Harford Community College, Youngstown State University, and Towson University where she studied Sports Management. She currently holds her USSF C License and USC National Diploma, and plans to pursue her A license and Premier Diploma. She played in the WPSL with the Maryland Pride from 2008 - 2012. Her passion for coaching developed through overcoming 4 ligament tears over 8 years of playing competitively after high school. Volk was also a Board Member with the Craig Willinger Fund for several years, a non-profit organization that gives once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to young soccer fans with terminal illness. She hopes to bring the same focus on philanthropy and community service to the program at Harford.

Volk currently resides in Churchville with her husband Jesse and their son, Henry.

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
