Keith Lambert

Keith Lambert has spent 10 seasons as a head soccer coach at Menlo. After spending his first four years in Atherton as the head women’s coach, in 2017 he moved to the men’s team.


In Lambert’s time with the men's soccer program, the Oaks have:


Amassed a 52-30-7 record, including a 23-15-5 GSAC record


Picked up the second GSAC Title in Program History


Been ranked as high as #16 in the national rankings in 2018, the best mark in program history


Seen 14 Oaks earn All-GSAC honors, including four NAIA All-Americans


Seen four team members honored as CoSIDA Academic All-District


In his four seasons with the women’s team:


Lambert led the Oaks to an 11-5-1 overall record and an 8-4-1 mark in conference play in his inaugural season


The following season, the Oaks again qualified for the Cal Pac playoffs, this time as the fourth seed, and stunned the field by winning the CalPac Title


In Menlo’s first season in the GSAC, Lambert helped guide the Oaks to the school's first-ever GSAC playoff appearance, advancing to the quarterfinals


In 2016, the Oaks returned to the playoffs in the GSAC, becoming the first Menlo team to make consecutive appearances


Fifteen players earned All-Conference honors during his tenure


Five players earned Scholar-Athlete awards


Two players were Honorable Mention All-Americans


One player earned Third-Team All-American status


In addition to his duties at Menlo College, Lambert is the head coach of MVLA. He joined the Oaks from CSU East Bay, where he served as first assistant coach on the men’s soccer team for four seasons. He also spent time as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams at his alma mater, Humboldt State University.


As a player, he spent two seasons at CSU San Bernardino before transferring to Humboldt State. A midfielder for two seasons at Humboldt State, Lambert collected Second-Team All-CCAA and Second-Team All-West Region honors as a senior captain. Following his collegiate career, he spent one season as a member of the Lancaster Rattlers of the Premier Development League.


Lambert is a 2008 graduate of Humboldt State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics. He also earned a Master's in Public Administration at Cal State University East Bay in August, 2014. Lambert holds NSCAA Level II goalkeeping and USSF A licenses, and Premier Coaching Diplomas.


Lambert is a native of Lancaster, California, and currently resides in Atherton with his wife Kimberly and two children.

Matt Tudor

Matt Tudor has served as a Menlo Men’s Soccer assistant coach for 11 years. His first four years were spent on Eric Bucchere’s staff, with the most recent seven on that of Keith Lambert. Across 10 competitive seasons, the Oaks have an overall record of 93-56-18, with a 49-29-10 record in conference play. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience related to the game of soccer, with a particular emphasis on coaching goalkeepers. He holds a number of licenses and certifications, including:


NSCAA Premier Diploma, US Soccer National Goalkeeping License


NSCAA National Goalkeeping Level II


Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach


Prior to joining the Oaks’ coaching staff, Tudor played four seasons for Wittenberg University (Springfield, Ohio) of the North Coast Athletic Conference.


He helped lead the Tigers to a 54-20 record from 1990-94


Following the conclusion of his collegiate career, Tudor went on to play a season with Ann Arbor Elite of the USISL in 1995 and a season with the Detroit Rockers of the NPSL in 1996


Tudor holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from San Jose State University, and has spent over a decade as a teacher and counselor in the Bay Area. He resides in Mountain View with his wife Jen and two children, Ian and Ella.

Zlatan Sahmanovic

After spending four seasons at the helm of Menlo Women's Soccer from 2018 to 2021, Coach Sahmanovic joined head men’s coach Keith Lambert's staff as an assistant coach in 2022.


In his three competitive seasons as head coach of women’s soccer, Sahmanovic amassed a record of 23-19-4, making him the fourth-winningest coach in program history. His best season came in 2021, when the Oaks went 9-4-3. Sahmanovic coached three All-GSAC recipients in his time at Menlo: Alexis Von Schottenstein (2018), Ally Salzwedel (2020), and Kori-Ann Koverman (2018, 2019, and 2021).

Eduardo Hernandez

Eduardo Hernandez comes to Menlo Men’s Soccer with over a decade of coaching experience.


A native of the East Bay, Hernandez played collegiate soccer at Warner Pacific University, of the NAIA, in Portland, Oregon. He also played for the U23 Timbers team of USL 1, JASA in the UPSL, and the Oakland Stompers in the NPSL.


Hernandez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from California State University, East Bay and a Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Concordia University, Irvine. He served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Ohlone College men’s team from 2019 to 2021, often arriving to training early to provide personal help to specific players. He then spent 15 months as a head coach of three Force Youth Soccer Club boys teams in San Mateo, which entailed recruiting players, holding tryouts, and leading training sessions.


Since May of 2021, he has been the Technical Director of the Fremont Rush Youth Soccer Club. He helps coach and sets lesson plans for all teams associated with the club, sets up and hosts club meetings to set coach objectives and standards, and oversees administrative tasks such as setting budgets and hiring coaches. He is also a staff member at Path 2 Pro, a soccer scouting agency, where he sets up scouting combines, identifies players with professional-level talent, and communicates with trialists, professional coaches, and professional players.


Over the course of his professional career, he has coached against several notable teams, including the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS, Monterey Bay of the USL Championship, and Guatemala’s U23 national team.


Hernandez describes himself as having a “holistic coaching approach,” in which he views each player as more than just an athlete. This style, he says, has brought him continued success over the course of his career.
