Billy Shannon

Billy Shannon will enter his sixth season at the helm of the men's soccer program at Maine Maritime, after leading the Mariners to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) playoffs in his first four seasons, including the top seed in the past two seasons and 2018 and 2019 Regular Season Titles. In 2019 Shannon's Mariners landed six players on the NAC All-Conferences teams, while Matt Caron earned NAC Player of the Year for the second-straight season and Shannon garnered NAC Coach of the Year accolades for the second-consecutive season.


In 2018 four Mariners garnered First Team All-NAC honors, including the NAC Player of the Year and NAC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, Coach Shannon was also selected by his peers as the NAC Coach of the Year.


Shannon has coached multiple All-Conference Players, a Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, two High School All-Americans and a CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District.


Prior to Maine Maritime Academy, Shannon served as the Assistant Men's Coach at his Alma Mater, Husson University where he was team captain and an All-Conference Player and then went on to coach the Boys Varsity Soccer team at Bangor High School. In addition to his high school and collegiate experience, Shannon served as Director of Coaching and Club Director at Seacoast United Maine North, formerly Blackbear United.


Coach Shannon brings over 10 years of coaching experience and the passion of teaching and working with young players to every camp and training session he directs. He holds his National "C" License from the United States Soccer Federation and his "Premier" diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He is a member of the United Soccer Coaches and has earned degrees in Physical Education & Business Administration from Husson University and a Master of Sports Leadership from Northeastern University.


He and his wife Martha reside in Hampden, with their five year old daughter Nora and newborn son Liam.

Finn Ducker

Ducker joins the Mariners Men's Soccer program for his first season as Assistant Coach.


Ducker holds a Masters of Science in Kinesiology and Physical Education from the University of Maine. He is originally from Manchester, England, but grew up in Winslow, Maine. He graduated in 2016 from the University of New England with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Exercise Science.


Before joining up with Maine Maritime Academy as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach, he spent time as a crew member of a sailboat, a crew member on a research farm, a personal trainer in New York City, and a Sports Performance Coach in Colorado.


Ducker has a unyielding passion for the sport of soccer and also athletic performance. He is looking forward to bringing his unique perspective and expertise to an already successful Men's Soccer Program at Maine Maritime Academy.
