Kaitlyn Barbour enters her third season at the helm of the women's soccer program after being named head coach in February of 2022.

During the 2023 campaign, the Vixens went on to acheive a 4-9-1 record, the most wins in a single season since 2014. Sweet Briar once again saw two student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Team for the second time in program history.

Barbour saw success during her first season at the head of the program, leading the Vixens to their first victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals Hollins since 2016. Two student-athletes were also named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Team for the first time in program history.

While working for with Spirits, Barbour assisted in all aspects of the Division III program, such as helping with recruiting efforts, creating and executing training strategies, player development plans and game tactics, helping with film breakdown and leading study hall. She saw immense success in her first season with the program, leading the team to a 12-6-1 record and a spot in the USA South semi-finals.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities with Salem, Barbour also served as the head coach of the North Carolina Rush Triad U16 and U19 teams.

A former player and captain for Averett University who started 59 of her 65 career matches, Barbour graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology & Sociology and Criminal Justice. The North Carolina native graduated from Salem College with her master's in education in school counseling in 2022.
