Bret Boylan

Bret Boylan begins his first season with Tennessee Southern after serving as an assistant coach at Carson-Newman University.

Boylan joined the Lady Eagles where he helped the team reach three consecutive conference tournaments as well as helped the team stay consistently ranked regionally. He was integral in recruiting players from all over the world, some who play or have played for their national team.

Prior to his time at CNU, He served as an Assistant Coach for the Martin Methodist men's soccer program for six years and in 2019 aided the team to the national tournament for the first time since 2013. During that time, he simultaneously worked with the Fayetteville High School boys' soccer program and became the winningest coach in the program. Boylan's prior coaching experience came with the University School of Jackson's high school and middle school boys' and girls' programs. While serving as the head coach for the middle school programs, he amassed an impressive 86-10 combined record and won a state championship with the high school girls.

Boylan also served on the Olympic Development Program staff for the state of TN.

Boylan had some collegiate soccer playing experience himself as he was a four-year soccer player at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee. While playing at Lambuth, Boylan was a two-time All-Conference performer and was a crucial member of the team's only trip to the NAIA National Tournament as well as two conference championships. He also played one year of basketball at Lambuth.

Boylan has a daughter, Riley, who is two.
