SincSports allows teams to maintain both a Team Roster and an Event Roster. While they may contain many of the same players, they serve different purposes.
Your Team Roster is your team's master roster and remains with the team throughout the season. An Event Roster is used for a specific tournament or event and may differ from your Team Roster based on event requirements.
What Is a Team Roster?
A Team Roster is the official list of players associated with your Team Page.
The Team Roster is used to:
- Maintain your team's player records
- Manage player and parent information
- Support team communications
- Track team participation across events
- Build recruiting and player profiles
The Team Roster remains with your team and can be updated throughout the season as players are added or removed.
What Is an Event Roster?
An Event Roster is the roster submitted for a specific tournament or event.
Tournament organizers may use the Event Roster for:
- Team check-in
- Event eligibility verification
- Match administration
- Official event records
Each event may have its own roster requirements, deadlines, and roster limits.
Why Might the Rosters Be Different?
In many cases, a team's Event Roster will match its Team Roster. However, there are situations where the Event Roster may be different.
Examples include:
- Guest players participating in an event
- Injured or unavailable players being removed
- Tournament roster size restrictions
- Event-specific roster requirements
Because of this, changes made to an Event Roster do not necessarily change the Team Roster.
