What Is a Team Merge?
Overview
A Team Merge combines two team records in SincSports into a single team record. This feature is used when duplicate team pages exist for the same team and you want to consolidate the team's history, results, rankings, and records.
Merging teams helps maintain accurate data and prevents team information from being split across multiple team pages.
When Should a Team Merge Be Used?
A Team Merge is typically needed when:
- A team was created more than once in SincSports.
- Different events were registered using different team pages.
- Team results and history are split between multiple team records.
- Rankings are being affected by duplicate team records.
- A club accidentally created a new team page instead of using an existing one.
What Happens During a Team Merge?
When teams are merged, the selected team records are combined into a single team page.
Depending on the teams involved, the merge may combine:
- Team history
- Match results
- Event participation records
- Team ratings
- USA Rank information
The goal is to preserve the team's complete competitive history under one team record.
Why Is Team Merge Important?
Duplicate team records can create several problems:
- Team history becomes fragmented.
- Results may be split between multiple records.
- Rankings and ratings may be less accurate.
- Event organizers may have difficulty identifying the correct team.
Merging duplicate teams helps ensure that all results and historical information contribute to the team's overall record.
