Head coach Michael Aycock is in his 17th year at the helm of the Pomeroy soccer program and 38th year of coaching soccer.
Coach Aycock has been leading the program since its inception in 2000. He has led the Pomeroys to the USCAA National Tournament on three occasions, with SMWC's highest finish coming in 2009 when they were the USCAA National Championship Runner-Up.
In his time at The Woods, Aycock has coached 40 USCAA All-Academic honorees and 11 USCAA All-Americans.
Coach Aycock has also coached Indiana teams in the Olympic Development Program for the past 25 years. His other experiences range from youth players to NCAA Division I. Coach Aycock's NCAA DI experience comes from Indiana State, where he was the coach of the Indiana State University men’s varsity program.
He currently serves as the Director of Coaching for the Vigo County Youth Soccer Association. He also serves as a state staff coaching instructor, provides instruction in a number of soccer camps, and has directed others, including the Indiana Goalkeeping Academy.
In 2003, coach Aycock was awarded the Jay Fredrich Good of Soccer Award by the Indiana Youth Soccer Association and was inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame in 2011. He also serves on the Indiana Soccer Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the American Association of Colleges and University, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and the Vigo County Youth Soccer Association.
